Overwhelmed by Disney World Planning? Here’s a List of Seven Helpful Disney World Links

Disney World Links

More than 20 million people visited Walt Disney World last year.  That’s a lot of Mickey ears! Obviously, that means there are a lot of companies and past visitors out there who are willing to share their advice. You can find hundreds of websites covering every last detail of your trip. Although I love information (I was a researcher in my past life….), the volume of it can be overwhelming.

In this post, I’m listing some of my favorite resources for planning a trip to Disney World. You’ll find Disney World links that cover hotels, attractions, money-saving tips and more.  I’m not affiliated with any of the sites, I just stumbled upon them as a fellow Disney World traveler and thought I’d share what I learned.

Here are seven helpful Disney World links, in no particular order:

Disneytouristblog.com

This is a great all-around site for planning your trip to Walt Disney World, or any of Disney’s other theme parks around the world. The author includes an impressive amount of reviews on hotels, restaurants, attractions and special events. His posts are direct and sincere with unbelievable photos and a healthy dose of humor. It’s a helpful and entertaining read and easily one of my favorite Disney-oriented sites.

Touringplans.com

This site was built by the authors of the popular Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World books. It offers advice for how to navigate the parks most efficiently, as well as extensive information on hotels, dining and attractions. It’s a data-driven site, complete with charts and graphs, which makes my researcher-heart skip a beat, but may be too much for some. I appreciate the humor of the accompanying blog, the accuracy of the “refurbishments and closings” schedule and the tips on FastPass+. Some of the site is reserved for subscribers ($14.95 a year), but the majority of the content is free.

Mousesavers.com

This website offers money-saving tips on all things Disney (parks, cruises, tours, stage shows, etc.) as well as advice on neighboring attractions. For money-saving tips in a more condensed format, check out these past posts: Saving Money at Disney World and Tips for Saving Money at Disney World.

disneyfoodblog.com

The motherload of Disney content related to dining. This site explains the meal plans, lists all the dining options and provides extensive reviews on Disney World’s numerous eateries. The site sells a dining guide, but most of the content is free.

allears.net

Another great site with extensive information on all things Disney World (as well as Disneyland and Disney Cruises). There’s a ton of information here, most of it in rather small font. It may be too much content if you’re a first time visitor, but if you’ve been to Disney multiple times or just want to dig in to every last detail of your trip, this is a good place to visit.

Official Disney Parks Blog

Although it’s not necessarily a planning web site, the official Disney Parks blog is a great place to learn what’s new or coming soon. The site covers news related to restaurants, merchandise, attractions and special events. I’d recommend reading it about two-to-three months before your vacation to see if there are any new entertainment options you’d like to add to your trip. Disney has been introducing and canceling services at a faster pace than normal this year. This site is a good place to confirm your “extra” options are still available before heading to Orlando.

wdwinfo.com

Possibly the largest of all the sites listed, in terms of sheer content. It’s really two sites in one. The main site, wdwinfo, includes detailed information on every possible aspect of your trip. The secondary site, disboards.com, is an open-forum for Disney lovers to share their ideas or seek advice. It’s not the best site for a quick answer, but it can be a fun diversion. It’s also a great site for beating the post-vacation blues.

Other sites to consider:

easywdw.com – offers attraction overviews, restaurant reviews, touring plans and wait time estimates organized by specific Disney park for easy access

undercover tourist.com – primarily a discount ticketing agent, but the “planning” tab offers step-by-step content for the major details of your trip
